HOW IT WORKS

At The Chefs Cave, the process begins with you and your imagination! Choose up to 3 different flavors that will be blended together to create your very own unique masterpiece. Start by choosing a fresh fruit to be the base of this masterful concoction, then add up to 2 other flavors to bring your unique Jam to fruition!

With 52 individual flavors to choose from and 46,836 different possible combinations of flavors, you have a long way to go on your personal journey of jammy goodness, but lucky for you, the journey is paved in jamilicious fun!

 

HOW WE GOT HERE

We here at The Chefs Cave are not so much a “we” as much as I am a “me”. My name is Josh Zweifler and I am the sole owner and employee (so far) of The Chefs Cave. When I was 13 years old, I had the great fortune of receiving a position at a prestigious country club in San Jose California. It was here over 3 summers that I learned that creating amazing dishes did not have to be a strict following of recipes, but could be an exploration of new flavor combinations that have never been tried before. I learned to take pride in what I made, no matter where I was, at home, at work, even at jobs I where I thought the food was sub-par, “never let yourself be the weak link” became my mantra. After years of working all over the California Bay Area, from saving a dying Kebab Shack and Hookah Bar while in College to opening a restaurant with a Michelin Star Chef and a former San Jose Sharks player, I had enough of working for other people and set out on my own. I moved to Austin in 2018 to start my own version of underground dining, and finally after almost 2 years of saving and preparation I was set to begin. I was just about to host my very first dinner when I started to hear about Covid-19.  It soon became clear that hosting an underground dining club was not going to work, and all of a sudden, all the work I had been doing for the past 2 years to start this endeavor was nullified. Not being able to start my dining club was a big blow, but I quickly adjusted and began experimenting with making jams, and what I have discovered is a sugary world of literally millions of different flavor combinations. Through daily experimentation I found that there were so many amazing flavors to share, I couldn’t possibly decide on just 5, 10, or even 20 flavors.  That journey led me to create this site to enable you to experiment just like I did! Having made countless jams myself, I will be able to adjust any combination of flavors to take your unique jam to the peak of its potential!
